You have been named as someone’s clinical executor on Bloom. Here is what that means and what to do.
A therapist has named you as their clinical executor on Bloom. If they die or become unable to work, you would help contact their clients, hand over records and close their practice. It is an important role, but nothing is asked of you unless that day comes. You do not need a Bloom account. Everything works through secure links sent to your email.
You receive an email asking you to acknowledge the role.
Select Yes, I acknowledge to confirm you are willing to help.
Select No, decline if you would rather not, so the therapist can name someone else.
Once you acknowledge, Bloom emails you your request-access link. Keep that email somewhere safe. If you ever lose it, enter your email address on the executor sign-in page and Bloom sends it again.
Once a year the therapist is asked to confirm you are still the right person. You do not need to do anything for this.
If the therapist dies or becomes unable to work, open your request-access link and:
1
Choose the reason
They have died, or they are unable to work.
2
Upload evidence
A death certificate, or a letter from a GP, hospital, solicitor or next of kin. PDF or image, up to 10 MB each.
3
Leave a phone number
So Bloom can reach you if we have questions.
Bloom then tells the therapist and waits 72 hours in case it is a mistake. After that, Bloom staff review your request. You are emailed when a decision is made.
If your request is approved, you receive a sign-in link. It lasts 24 hours, and you can request a fresh one from the sign-in page whenever you need it. Your access lasts 90 days, and everything you do is logged.
Clients
Contact details for each client, with their last and next session. Send them the therapist’s message, or mark them as told another way.
Appointments
Cancel upcoming sessions, one at a time or all at once.
Access log
Everything you have looked at or done, as the therapist will see it.
Close practice
When you are finished, close the practice. This cancels remaining sessions, tells every client not yet told, and takes down the booking page. It cannot be undone.
From a client’s card, Send records prepares that client’s records for a successor therapist, another therapist by email, or the client themselves. Choose what to include: the signed contract, sent documents, signed forms, and session notes if the therapist allowed them.
Records are never sent as email attachments. The recipient gets a secure link and, separately, a one-time code. The link lasts 14 days. If the wrong code is entered three times the link locks, and you will need to send a new one.
You can see the therapist’s clients and their upcoming sessions. You can see session notes only if the therapist chose to share them when they nominated you, and Bloom staff cannot change that. Payments, insights and the rest of Bloom stay closed to you, and other therapists in the same practice are never included. If the therapist recovers and signs in to Bloom, your access ends straight away. If you have questions at any point, email hello@trybloom.co.uk.
